It has been much too long that cool metal needles have graced my hands. For too long, "yarn stash" has not been spoken in this house. I am not sure how that happened. Too much going on, too much recuperating from surgeries! When the house is quiet (which is almost never), it calls to me! Slowly, I feel the knitting mojo flowing back into my body. All kinds of creative ideas! Which one to choose?
Must stop reading Ravelry.com right now! I had forgotten how much I "need" a spinning wheel and a drum carder! Don't forget a sock machine as well. Hmm, so so many needs, and yet sooooo little check book!
I am hoping in the not too distant future, there will be land I can call mine and finally have a place for some fiber animals. That is all that is keeping me going some days. The promise of the future. Some of this future better hurry up and get here before I am too old or busted up to enjoy it.
The goings on in the wild and crazy life that I call MINE! This is more an online diary for now. That may change. With 6 people in this house, things are never dull! We are now down to 4 people and 2 cats at the moment. This is always subject to change!

We have BABIES!!!
Yes, the Anderson family has added more to it's household! Last night we discovered two baby guppies. Baby fish are called FRY. So we have two fry from our recent purchase of guppies. Right now they are too small and fast to get good pictures of. We have started feeding Tera Brine Shrimp to help add protein as both moms and babies need it. http://www.amazon.com/Tetra-Baby-Shrimp-Dried-Gammarus/dp/B00025K0XK We still feed our regular flake food as well. Our tank tends to get over fed. There are several reasons for this:
1: We let Cody help with the feeding. :)
2: We have a snail and an sucker fish that need something to clean up.
3: Multiple feeding keep them from being bored and nipping on fins.
4: Gives the babies better chance at survival if the adults are full.
5: They are FUN to watch eat!
I have not yet been able to figure out who the mother is of our two fry. However, we have several that look to have babies soon! (We hope)

Had an AWESOME weekend in the Black Hills!
Oh my! Our spur of the moment trip to the Black Hills of SD was just what the doctor ordered! It was so nice just to have a brain break and do fun things as a family! We all were wishing that it would have lasted so much longer! Here are a bunch of photos of our trip! Enjoy!
This is just a few of the many pics we took on this trip.

Happy Day!
I am very excited!!! I stepped on the Wii Fit this am and it told me that I had lost 3.5 pounds! Yeah!!!!! This is huge considering that aerobic exercise is still out of the question due to my knee. Slowly but surely I am implementing the lifestyle changes that I am learning in my Health Coach schooling.
I just have to keep reminding myself that I took me a while to get this size. So, it is going to take me a while to "unget" this size. :) The weather here has been perfect Fall weather! Nice cool nights make for really good sleeping!

Throw in all my college and nutrition classes and there isn't much free time. Add extra time to those classes as the pain meds I am STILL on cause some brain fog. Sometimes, I will go thru something a couple of time to understand what the class was about! Thank goodness, I am taking internet classes this year. Now add in a garden, meals, laundry, groceries, etc and there is less free time. I swear sometimes it seems like 12 people live here instead of 6 for the amount of groceries we go thru! Oh yeah, work on homeschool stuff with Cody and find/research homeschool stuff for Cody. Spend hours on the phone dealing/fighting with two different insurance companies.
Yes, I have been dealing with a bit of stress to say the least! If I didn't have to deal with trying to make insurance companies do what they are supposed to do, I would be a TON less stressed. Because of them, I have not been able to do PT for the last few weeks as they are refusing to pay at this point. So I get to spend all my time on the phone trying to get thru to a human to remind them that they have all the paperwork that they need to approve PT. I have lost count how many times I have been put on hold and than hung up on, or told they will look into it and call me back. Days later still no call?? Great customer service or something.
Trying to get my family to eat more healthy is a process to say the least. Trying to modify familiar foods to be more healthy is a bit of a challenge. I have some picky eaters in my house!
Hopefully, by the end of the year, my knee will be back to 100%. It is getting better but not fast enough for me. I am tired of things taking so long to do because of my knee! I just keep reminding myself that the Lord doesn't give us more than we can handle. I just wish He didn't have so much faith in me! I just keep looking forward to June 2011 when I WILL hike to the top of Crazy Horse during their annual Volksmarch.

Oh My! We maybe found a new place to spend lots of money. YIKES!
Well, went to my weekly beating as I like to call it. My husband calls it PT. LOL After that we went to my good friend Teresa's business and visited for a couple of hours. Today was Cody's first homeschooling day all though we spent most of the morning out!
After Teresa's, we went next door to The Last Shop CD Shop. Spent $75 on books for the Squid worth about $200. Got all kinds of cool books. Dragons, Wizards, Pirates, Earth, Animals are just a few of the subjects bought. The coolest thing is that that Squid had input on all the books and is excited about them! This was definitely a store that we could have done without ever going into! The crazy thing??? We only looked at one set of shelves! It is not hard to find cool stuff there!
This afternoon with the hubby off at college, the Squid and I stayed home. He read about dragons and has started working on some of the puzzles in the book. I finished my first assignment for my CS 105 class.
Started entering our new books into a program on my Droid. Now that we are going to be buying more books that are in a series, I figured I should keep track to avoid duplicates.
Well, time for some sleep.

What I have I gotten myself into??
Well, my life is bit hectic and crazy. Let me tell you why! My house consists of 6 people - myself, my husband, his mom, eldest son (17), daughter (13), and youngest son (10). Right now my husband is going back to college for the first time in too many years to count. I too am going back to school online to become a Certified Health Coach. I am also taking a few college classes to work towards finishing my degree. So that equals out to about a double load. We won't talk about how many years it has been since I was in college either. I am so looking forward to filling out 3, that's right 3, FAFSAs in January. (insert sarcasm here!) So next year at this time, my husband, my self, and our eldest will all be in college.
Right now I am also dealing with a double knee injury from December 26, 2008. Yep, you read that right, 2008! I am in physical therapy following my third knee surgery. That whole issue is a blog unto itself. So I also go to PT 2-3 times a week.
Just to make this time of year a tab busier, my brother is getting married on Sept. 10. and both the hubby and I are standing up for him. The brides maid dress issue has been interesting! I am not entirely sure what it will look like until Wed and the wedding is on Fri. This has got to be one of the most interesting weddings I have ever been apart of! I will blog all about it and post some pics later as well.
Than to top it all off - the elementary school were my youngest goes is not addressing his learning needs. The poor kid had some less than quality teachers in the beginning and now the holes in his education are starting to really show. SOOOOOO, after much discussion and prayer, my husband and I have made up our minds to homeschool him. Believe me when I say that this was not something we just jumped into. We are just tired of fighting to get him the extra help he needs and having to reteach many of his classes after he gets home. I might as well do it myself the first time! Tomorrow we will start the paperwork to get our homeschooling plan official. The Squid (as we call him) is very excited about this! The change in him as been amazing and we just brought it up to him three days ago. All of a sudden, he is asking questions and wanting to know about all kinds of things. This is a complete 180 from him. He is excited that he gets to learn about things that interest him and have plenty of time to do it.
It is more that a bit scary trying to figure out how I am going to get my schooling and his done as well. As all of my classes are online, I am going to have him listen to the lectures with me and do age appropriate work based on what we just learned. By explaining it to him, I will learn it better as well.
Well, that is enough for now! Stayed tuned for the ongoing saga at the "Anderson Academy SD."
